Alanya - Kestel

Kestel is about 9 km east from Alanya. Kestel is a small, typical Turkish village where there is hardly any traffic and children can play on the streets. The calm original Turkish idyll still exist here. With its rolling hills Kestel offers an unobstructed view to the Mediterranean, the Taurus mountains and the castle hill of Alanya. In the green surroundings with banana plantations, almonds, avocados and strawberries are grown. Therefore the landscape consists of many plantations of various fruits and citrus gardens and flowers blooming in the spring to spread the excellent fragrant throughout the area.
 
A few smaller resorts in the various categories define the character of this area. Along the main street there are many small shops selling textiles, short trips or daily excursions and of course groceries you can find in almost every corner. If you feel you cannot find things you are looking for you can always take the regular bus service to Alanya center, the bus ride takes about 10 minutes.
 
You can also find a variety of restaurants and eateries that offer you not only Turkish cuisine but just as well many international dishes. The beaches are gently sloping and covered with brownish sand gravel so they are extremely safe for families with children making it a true beach paradise. The pleasant and well-balanced climate provides the region with its average 27° c warm summer and mild winters averaging 14° c perfect for peple who love to swim in the sea. In most cases more than 330 days a year the sun shines from the blue sky. In addition to beach activities, for example paragliding, banana boating and water skiing, there are a variety of excursions in the surrounding area, that presents plenty of cultural and historical monuments.
